I received an email from DAG Ammo today and I’m not sure what to make of it.  In my ammo updates recently its looked like DAG Ammo had a really good deal going with TulAmmo.  Evidently that’s not the case for 2013.

Here’s the email:

I hope everyone is off to a great start to 2013!

I wanted to give everyone an update on ammunition and primers at the start
of the new year.

Tulammousa continues to import ammunition every week, the availability has
been scarce but DAG Ammo is still getting ammunition to sell on the Website
and will continue to do so the rest of this year.  I am scheduled to receive
a large shipment of .223 ammunition during March or April of 2013.

The following ammunition will not be imported by Tulammousa this year:
.223 55GR HP
.223 55GR SP
.223 62GR FMJ
.223 62GR HP
.223 75 GR HP
.30 Carbine 110GR FMJ
.308 165GR SP
5.45×39 60GR FMJ
5.45×39 60GR HP
7.62x54R 148GR FMJ
.357 Magnum 158GR FMJ
9×18 Makarov 92GR FMJ
.45 Auto Tin Can
.223 Tin Can

I still have .30 Carbine and 7.62×54 in stock as I have a few cases
remaining from last year.

All the Tulammousa line of primers will continue to be imported this year as
well.  There was a change in warehouse locations earlier this year and there
has been some issues with getting Tracking Numbers for Primer Orders.  We
are working extremely hard on getting this  fixed.  There are some recent
Primer Orders that were shipped that have been returned to the Warehouse as
the Hazmat Label was not placed properly on the box and UPS returned them.
This will obviously be fixed immediately and will not be an issue again.

Thank-you all for your support during the last year.

Its good to know they’ve got some .223 scheduled to arrive next month but also troubling to know that TulAmmo is not going to be importing hardly anything this year.  TulAmmo was one of my favorite brands for their low cost and good performance.

Maybe its just for DAG Ammo, I don’t know.  Anyone else have a different interpretation of the email I received?

This cant be good in contributing to the price and or scarcity. Concerned me too. Less supply is never a good thing unless some new players get into production. Its like were getting screwed from every direction.

Thanks for the comment. I agree completely. One less manufactuer importing ammo is one less competitor. And that doesn’t favor the consumer in the whole supply and demand equation . . .
